The Addictor is a small, trailerable fiberglass power boat designed by Richard Hoffman and produced between 1983 and 1996 in California.
It was manufactured in Sunny Dana Point and later moved to San Diego before closing operations.
The boat is known for its compact size, typically ranging from around 8 to 10 feet in length, and was available in single, two, or three-seat configurations.

Addictor boats were powered by outboard motors, primarily Tohatsu engines ranging from 18 hp to 40 hp, with the 40 hp Tohatsu being used on the 190 competition and 245 models.
The design was intended to plane efficiently, allowing the boat to “skate across rough water” and spend significant time out of the water, especially at higher speeds.
The hulls were designed to use whitecaps as launch ramps, contributing to its unique handling and performance.

The company produced several models, including the single-seater Hugger, the two-seater 190, the deluxe 245 (nicknamed the “Quarter Pounder”), the three-seater 333 Bambino, and later the Adventure model based on the 245.
Custom options included multi-color gel coats, rubber bumper stripping, stainless steel bow railings, windshields, bimini tops, and gauges.
The boats weighed between 200 and 400 pounds, depending on the model.

Although marketed as a recreational boat, most Addictor boats were sold as rentals at lakes such as Lake Havasu, due to limited marketing efforts.
The company ceased operations around the time personal watercraft like Jet Skis became popular.
Some owners have since converted Addictor boats to jet-powered models using components from Seadoo personal watercraft.
